The 400G QSFP-DD EDR4 uses an MTP/MPO-12 interface for full-rate 400G on a single fiber and supports breakout mode — an MPO-to-LC harness turns one port into 4×100G easily. A 7nm DSP with COB packaging keeps power under 12W at 2km reach, and the port is backward compatible with QSFP+/QSFP28.
